Next week i was going to go downtown and see if i can get some carp on a fly rod and i got the idea from watching the videos by coloradoskiesoutfitters fly shop and was wondering if anybody knew where to start because i think i heard one time that around the Elitch Gardens area is good?

Your choice is good, as there are a couple good schools there. Understand however that carp are extremely intellegent as fish go, and the downtown area sees a lot of fishing traffic. So expect to see plenty of fish that will be extremely wary.

Good luck.

Usually there are a plenty carp swimming through out the platte. Usually you just got to spot them. Look for in the shallows feeding or them bassing in the sun. Have fun!!!

Near REI is a good place to start. I would highly recommend going farther North. Commerce city area. There is a much better population of carp from 58th Avenue on. Just watch for rocks thrown in your direction! You never know when you are standing on somebody's front porch.
