Post By: bratfish      Posted: 6/3/2012 10:44:13 PM     Points: 903
well dam, take my dad fishing teach him my tricks/tips. And he keeps smoking me wth? lol. great day sunny with rain which made the lake glass afterwards. the top kept us fishing all day, woot to bimini tops, and windshields. the bite was definitely am. missed a nice one myself but managed to a double digit day, with my dad doing just as well. most 17-19 inches a few here there over most under. my dad got a 6-7pder, guessing, bubble gut laker. he was fat, too. must be eating good. with a line hanging out of his mouth already. did best to cut line away as much without hurting the fella, and put him back to get monsta sized... water was 54ish clear and fishing well. saw alot of dink stocker trout beeing caught, also. all lakers in the boat for us, searching for the next fish book pic.
tightlines.

yeah the top goes up in about 35seconds on my boat. great top. as everyone else headed for their cars, we put the top up and kept jigging. going to get sides and back made to be in ANY weather soon. today would have been more productive had i had the ipilot installed and able to use. dam install days from bps are weeks out... been using a fishfinder similar to an atari...... making it hard to get over the bigguns. but still manage to stay in the fish. great weather for fishing lately.

Sweet! Finally got that boat eh? I have been so insainely busy the last couple of weeks preparing for summer up here but plan to start hitting it hard again from this week onward. Hollar if you guys come up this way and you can join in with hammer and I on our jigging floatilla.

On a side note, Hammer installed his Ipilot himself. He said it was really easy and straight forward.Just gotta charnge out the head.

schmiley yeah just let me know via email. i fish everyday now. only stop to sleep for a day. heading to twin tomorrow in the new burner. with fresh sucker meat ready, still swimming actually! cant wait to cut off a fresh piece of meat and get a jig going. so just let me know when you wanna get out eh, were always ready to fish.
i need a bigger troller, its got a 65pd thrust, and let me tell you its not enough for a 18.5 foot deep v. imo. were going 80pd thrust and 60inch shaft to get it in the water to keep me "spot locked" on the jigging spot. i cant wait. were also waiting for the lowrance hds5 iirc. bc the atari fishfinder im running is sooooo throwback id like to throw it back...
jk yep were on the hunt. digi cam on the ready, golden rule for length, and the ol rapala digi scale for the fatness... we even regeared up with several rods, jigs etc. im a fishin mutha trucka. lake trout just rock, such color and variety. one can be dark one can be yellowish.
that fishs teeth were VERY sharp, btw.

Bratfish, I use a 65 trolling moter on my 19.5 deck boat and it's plenty to keep the I pilot spot locked even in white caps. I love that thing, one of the best fishing purchases I have ever made.

I might suggest when getting one with like in its mouth leave it long enough that it goes just past its gill plate, that way it can still eat., and will shed it when the hook desolves.

Oh to be independently wealthy or retired and able fish every day...one can dream, I guess. Still one kid in college and one in high school for me.

Anyway, back to reality... if you are adding iPilot to a Terrova it is literally plug 'n play...just did it last weekend and the system runs like a dream. If you are adding it to a Powerdrive its more work. Spot-lock worked perfectly in 15+ mph wind as did the record track feature. Switched out an older 24v 48 lb for a 80 lb on a 17' Vhull. The difference is amazing. I think I'm gonna be very happy with this system!

im getting the terrarova iirc 80pd to just get straight to the point. to fish in anything. also upping the electronics, getting a lowrance. i just want a warranty so when something goes wrong they have to deal with me after having to leave the lake.... warranties kickarse.
heading up tomorrow am, for granby action. just got done cleaning and organizing the ol dizzel. plus its all chrome and shiny. got some new divers to troll specific depths. im looking forward to that even though i prefer to jigem out.
today at twin was good, 8 for me and my dad as well. most 16-18 or so inches. i broke one off as usual.
hitting rampart thurs bright and early i think. ive got fresh sucker meat for tomorrow too. its still mad i have it, usually last me a few fish the fresher the meat. im so poor im running out of fishin jeans.... like almost hobo status.
