Fly Fishing Silverthorne

Was just wondering if anyone knows anywhere in particular is a good place to fly fish on the blue river, never fished there, was thinking about trying it out.

The Blue gets a lot of pressure, so you may not get a lot of specific location info...it never hurts to ask! Honestly, the fishing right in town can be pretty good. Like anywhere, the more you're willing to walk, the chances of fewer anglers and better fishing goes up.

Good luck! It's a great river.

Most people will tell you from the outlets to the dam so thats what I'll pass on. Thats the majority of fishing in silverthorne. But the blue river flows for 10 or more miles before entering green mountain and its all gold medal water from breck to green mountain. I'll see you out there tomorrow

Start early in town with streamers at dawn. When it gets crowded drive toward Green mtn and pick a pullout and start walking. tons of nice fish...

This should get you psyched, pics from 2 weekends ago. Have fun exploring, under I-70 is a good place to start. Not too many specific flies to recommend, midge emergers, and anything #18-22 for a few passes (stop at the fly shop off the highway in town). Substitute a hopper for your indicator and bring some split shot to get your depth right, or being your Jedi skills...
