I am not sure about sterling but the wiper and eyes have been hitting at jackson and prewitt for a little over a month now so they are probably biting there too. Jackson slowed down considerably in the past two weeks. And prewitt has gotten nice n hot for everything. Please report back if u get out there. N good luck.

Walleye at sterling has been slow, but if you can find the wiper in the right spot you'll get a lot - north and south ends of the dam mostly. Lots of crappie and trout coming out too. Water's only down about ten feet, outlet running, inlet off.

Thanks for the report Grey Wolf. How are they fishing for the wiper trolling or bait.

went there today and caught nothing but crappies all day long! no wipers biting though which was disappointing, probably no wind at all till the rain storm clouds came in and still nothing, so we just headed home for the day. the mad crappie fishing made up for the no wipers today. four including me caught our crappie limit in less than 1-2 hours. fished the dam and towards the left of the boating dock on the rocks.

Bait on the wiper - been doing better from shore than from the boat. Can't seem to find the right spot from the boat - none of the usual spots have been very reliable so far this year (Goose Island, up Darby, etc.). Water is getting just low enough to reach the tip of Sunset Point by shore - hopefully the cats will pick up there.

i been in a boat here many times seems the regular wiper spot is located in the far bay ( or inlet ) just a ways norh from the boat ramp where you come in at the south gate..as you launch you go to the left andto the far side of the back area... you go north to the far inlet ..there is markers. seems just as you enter the back area in the beginning to the left you see floats marking shallow water anchor there and cast to the water weeds crawdads..i have used...and the action is slow ....but if you stay a while you can just about limit out if you have enough bait....it is slow and the weather is hott....you will get carps in sperts ...and wipers in sperts ...that's been a regular for me.
