I love to fish but it's a lot more fun with company than going it alone. Anyone interested in meeting up at Chatfield for some (hopefully) walleye action this Friday evening?

hmmmm i bet you might have better luck on another evening coyotee. Friday is the all night fishing at Aurora Res. Have you thought about going out there? I know there is a lot of Chatfield regulars that will be hitting up Aurora, maybe you can network....
Its going to be a big party type atmosphere at the dinner as well, I bet you will meet a bunch of potential fishing buddies.
sorry i wasnt much more help, id love to go, but my wife is out of town and I will be watching Fishful Thinker at home....
I was sereiously considering going out tomorrow night as well. What time were you thinking? I have a boat, are you talking shore fishing or boat fishing? Do you have a boat?
I only live about 6 miles from the north boat ramp.
JCricket, I have a boat too, but I don't have experience driving my boat at night on the water. I'd love to find some fishing buddies, especially others with boats. When were you thinking of going?
I would likely go out there around 6:30 -7:00 as well. Do you happen to have an electric trolling motor on your boat? All I have right now is a gas motor, it is too fast at even a slow speed for fishing for the eyes. I'll have an electric on it in a few weeks though.
I went out with Nate on Monday and learned how to fish for the eye's, now I need to practice the technique.
Is there anyway to contact members on this site. I would love to talk, but I ma hesitatnt about posting my phone or email address.

Are we talking about fishing Chatty or Aurora Res.? Not sure where this conversation went. BTW, thank you all for inviting me to fish with you at Aurora Res. What a great bunch of people on this site!

At Aurora tonight will be a lot of YGs (young guys) trying to out fish the OGs (old guys) for bragging rights, in either case I bet you would fit right in. Check out this link, if you havent already, their will be guys that fish Chatty regularly too.

badcoyotee, Jcricket and I are planning on going out tonight to Chatfield if you want to meet up with us. The Aurora idea sounds awesome, so if you decide to go there instead we'll meet up another time.

either place, sounds like you want to take your rain gear along, so you can hang in there if you get showered on, by the 10% chance. Hey Cricket that COMA have an antique division ? LOL

No worries Jcricket! We'll "hook" up another time! :) I went out solo for a couple hours and then got a horrible headache so called it quits around 9:00. I did catch a pretty large stick...just don't know exactly how to cook them. They always come out a little tough to chew!

Sounds good jman! I know I'd like to get out there with you if you're going out. I'm going to be tied up for the next couple weeks with work and other stuff, and not able to get on here, but I'll get back onto here in a couple weeks when things slow down a bit and we'll head out and see if we can catch a few fish.

At least 50 to join COMA? Well I think with my diminished IQ and accomplished lier, I should be allowed access to such a privelaged club>}
Anyway, I got my trolling motor mount built and mounted on the boat yesterday. Picked up the battery and box also. Maybe today I'll have it all installed and be ready for the water tonight - I hope.
I also live pretty close to chatty.
I am looking for a few fishing buddies too. You can eamil me at h o e f l e r s 4 at c o m c a s t dot net
remove spaces and we can trade info there. I am a stay at home dad with twin 14 year old boys.

I live right down the street from chatty and try to go every evening but no one really to go with to get some real good tips. This is really my first year enjoying it, and have been on a boat just once to troll. I was wondering if and one wants some company some evening if so please email me at dalch84@Gmail.com
Hey Guys, I can't go when it is hot, like over 85. I have a medical condition. I am planning on tomorrow night, but loks like i am getting close to a full boat. I might be able to do one more guy.
I am going to be at the north boat ramp around 6-6:30 pm. Ill havea 14 foot pontoon and a honda ridgeline.
If you want to come, email and we can talk.
My boat rules - no alcohol or drugs on board, life preservers must be on, and common sense prevails. THat is about it.
Right now it will be me, my 14 year old son, and one other fishexplorer. till later................

Keep me in mind Jcricket. I'll chip in on the fuel no problem. Good boat rules also. Keeping it safe, fun and setting a good example for your son. Looking forward to meeting you one of these days.

Met up with tophercatcher and gotabite last night. Those are two top draw folks people.
We had a ton of fun. I think all toll the catch was six. A couple of trout, a few walleye and even a smalley.
Absolutely gorgeous night too. Water was 70.6 on my fish finder.
We trolled the outer perimeter mostly using crank baits just below the surface - prlly at about 4-6 foot deep. We marked a ton of fish in the 6-20 foot range all over the place too.
Had one scary moment. We had tophercatcher, and gottabite in the front of the boat along with a battery and trolling motor. The boat was a little bow heavy and we had some water sneaking up on deck. We r earrange our sitting positions and all was good. It did show me it was time to get a bigger boat though - I just hate doing that >)
I hope to meet up with you guys again - it was a blast!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a blast too!! I was excited to finally land my first CO walleye! My wife said to me when I got home "Oh, so now you know there really ARE fish in Chatfield." :-)
Next time though we need to take my boat instead so that you, Jcricket, can actually get out and do some fishing too instead of just navigating. Can't wait to see the upgraded model that you end up with. Does having a bigger boat mean we'll catch bigger fish?

Not sure if I saw you guys out there or not, but I was fishing from the kayak last night/evening as well ... trolling flat raps looking for larger fish, I ended the day with 3 sub 18" eyes and 2 smallies. Nice calm, dark evening.

I am soooo jealous!!! Way to go guys! Best part of fishing is having fun and it sounds like you guys certainly did. Hope to see you all on Saturday nite at the gathering for Nightstalker.

I had the pleasure to go out with jcricket and his son as well as gotabite. We had a blast, they showed me so much I didn't no jcricket son hocked into a lil rainbow then I hocked into a 15 inch one on the road. About an hour later gotabite got a good bite pulled in a 13 inch eye (first pic) then jcricket son got a nice size small then right after I pulled in a 17 inch eye!! I had one of the best fishing experience of my life. Just want to say it one more time thank u so much guys!!!!
I'm surprised that neither of you two have given me grief for the ones I missed last night too. I'm still a little disappointed that I lost an $8 lure...if anyone catches a monster with another lure stuck in his mouth, that is my lure. It's a blue and silver xrap. HA!

Chatty Gathering
dmccull2000 (a.k.a. : Dave) has done a tremendous job of organizing this outting! Hats off to you man!
On the main fishexplorer.com forum page you will find a thread regarding some of us getting together at Chatfield on Saturday nite. Check it out.
Dave, can you somehow get your original post to THIS specific Chatfield Res. location from the main site page ? I think it would get to more of us that fish for walleye at Chatty regularly. Just a suggestion.
This is a great opportunity for all of us to meet and greet. To share knowledge, or to get schooled. Either way, it's gonna be a whole bunch of fun for all!
Dave has a psuedo sign up list going so please add yourself if you will be there with us.
Don't be afraid to bring a side dish or some drinks to share if you can join us.
