Lake: South Delaney
fishing trip advice

I'm going with a friend his dad and son
To south delaney. since I usually go in september I'm not sure what to use out there right now. my friend is just getting in the fly fishing I would love to put him on some fish! any help would be much appreciated. also some help about north would be great. much obliged.

black streamers. Anglers All in Littleton actually has flies called Delaney Specials (or something like that). Large black maribou.

Conditions and hatches are variable (if your a fly guy) . North Park Anglers fly shop is excellent (google their web site) - and they will steer you right on course for good advice ! Tight lines!

I just saw this for the first time... sorry I didn't spot it when you posted. Tiny flies have been doing well, chironimids in size 16 to 22 for me, small scuds, and tiny pheasant tails, fished 18 to 24 inches under an indicator when the midges are hatiching. I have found the best activity on the western shore, within thirty yards of the shorline, where there is more shelter from the wind. If you've already gone, hope you had a good trip, and if not, good luck!
