Jumbo Res Walleye Tournament May 19-20th
Post By: reconfisher      Posted: 5/7/2012 5:05:12 PM     Points: 9295
Anyone that wants to participate please visit [log in for link] must be a member of the CWA. Entry fee is $200 per Team of 2. This tournament will be held at Jumbo Res, which has some great walleyes in it! Lots of 21-22 in fish were caught and released last year.

I wish I could, but two problems. Haven't figured out where my non-boater would set on my kayak. But more importantly, I need to stay close to home these day.

It should be a great time. Jumbo has a great walleye population at this time. Good luck to all.

If fly-rodn and I bungee 2 kayaks together can we enter or does that count as 2 boats? Should be a great time out there hope the breeze laysdown for you.

Now there's an idea that I didn't think of. If we need a live well, we can use the ice chest that Matt converted for the Full Moon Open. Worked well, it's got a pump and aerator. Just need to add a decent battery and we're all set.

I'll be there! I love these tournaments! A bunch of people are afraid to lose, but you can't win them all! I just got done donating $325 at the MWC! No fear! Just keep fishing and get over it! Hope to see more people there! It's an awesome time! I've met TONS of cool people fishing this circuit! Throw down your money! You can sign up for a membership and for each tournament at the website online.

cat catcher, it is $30 a year to join the CWA and you can do it here [log in for link] We also do chapter meetings every other month so look at the FXR calendar for the next one nearest you! those you DO NOT need to be a member to attend. They are usually a great time, and the DOW bioligist come sometimes and give some pretty darn good info on that regions lakes.

As for the another tournament on top the aurora and no mo..this is a weekend (19-20) full of fishing activities, you have the fishful thinker fishfest at horsetooth, no name 11 mile tourny, our tourny, aurora tourny, and sportsmans warehouse in Thorton is having their springapalooza.
Also dave, i think you guys could enter the tourney that way! would be cool to see!

Are most of these tournaments C&R or do they all keep those fish?! If not C&R, then why would you want the circuit of PRO fishermen descend on your favorite lake just to make it tougher for ya by next weekend to catch fish?

All fish are put in one of three revival tanks that is has fresh water constantly flowing through it. We can usually return nearly all fish! Sometimes 1 to 3 in the whole tournament don't make it. The weigh in usually opens around 8 to 9 am to help prevent loss. And the people fishing these tournaments are by no means "pro's". They are guys that you see out at lake on the weekend! People get the wrong idea in there head and get afraid that they are fishing against pro's. Last weekend at the MWC tournament that was the case! I've learned more about catching walleyes at CWA tournaments than I could have ever learned on my own, anyone's else, or this website! Don't dog it til you try it! You might surprise yourself )

I'll also be fishing the tournament. It will be my first CWA event. I did fish the MWC tourney in Pueblo. It was a great experience. Does anyone know a good place to stay near Jumbo?

The closest towns with motels are Sterling, Julesburg and Sidney. But you can camp right at the lake.

Thanks for the response superP! I encourage anyone who has never fished or seen a CWA tourny to come check it out! There's always a wealth of knowledge to be had by just talking to anyone there! Good Luck to all the fisherman!
