NOW FOR THE PART THAT MADE ME AND MY FRIENDS FAMILY'S SICK TO ARE STOMACH'S, THIS IS FOR YOU, THE A-HOLE WHO LET HIS POOR LAB SWIM TO THE MIDDLE OF THE LAKE, I'M TALKING DEAD CENTER OF THE LAKE, YA THAT WAS US SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF ARE LUNGS TRYING TO SAVE YOUR DOG WHILE YOU STOOD THERE AS SHE SWAM IN CIRCLES LOST IN THE MIDDLE TAKING ON WATER. WE COULD HERE IT IN HER LUNGS AS SHE FRANTICALLY BARKED AND STARTED TO SINK, YOUR LUCKY OUR WIVES TALKED US OUT OF IT, CAUSE YOU CAME INCHES AWAY FROM THREE COUNTRY BOYS GETTIN' SOME REDNECK JUSTICE ON YOUR ARSE,NO B.S.......WELL WITH OUR WIFE'S ALMOST IN TEARS AND OUR DAUGHTERS AGES 2,3,5 LOOKING ON IN CONFUSION AND WORRY,... AND THE END RAPIDLY APROACHING, THERE'S THE RAY OF HOPE, WE ALL THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS TO MAN IN THE LITTLE WHITE JON BOAT WHO HEARD OUR SCREAMS AND SAVED HER AS SHE STARTED TO SINK, YOUR GOOD MAN, WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, WE CANT SAY ENOUGH. TO THE COWARD WHO OWNS THE DOG... %^$^%#$^# YOU, YOU PIECE OF @#$%@, YOU SHOULDN'T OWN A DOG YOU SCUM BAG. That being said, other than that, it was a great trip and we will be returning, word of warning there is broken glass everywhere if you have children and dogs as we did be careful, my poor shorthair lost a dime size part of hid pad from a piece and is now laying at my feet whimpering as I type this. he will live. mattyboy24...
I agree with you about the dog...some people aren't capable of owning a pet. I do however, want to remind you the land below DeWeese Dam is now Private Property and posted as such. I don't think access is even allowed without permission. I'd hate to see you ruin agood day with a tresspass ticket. Just sayin'! Good Fishing!

From the east side of the road over the creek it is posted as such but the west side it was posted as day use only no over night camping and I saw a dozen or so people fish it in the three days we where there, if I'm wrong please someone weigh in on this but I think I read the signs correct.

mattyboy24,
You are correct...the West side of the road is open for Day Use. The East side is posted. Sorry for the confiusion...but there is such a short stretch of Grape Creek East from the dam to the road, I thought you were on the other side. My apologies, and Good Fishing!

Nice report and nice fish... I am no longer surprised as I get older, but people are bleeping stupid. I am glad to hear the dumb@##'s dog lived, cannot say the same for the dumb#$$ that let it swim that far away.

Maybe some school yard justice would have been appropriate, but I am glad you took the high road. With more to look after than yourself, you made the right decision, hard as it may have been. That same dumb@## was probably liquored up and packing heat. I learned a long time ago if you are going to stick your hands in, be ready to get dirty, real dirty. People are stupid and armed.

This weekend I watched as a crowded area of people was put into danger as (2) dogs off leash chased a heard of elk. Never mind the elk had calves they were protecting. The elk charged the dogs into a group of people fishing and then continued to chase them up the mountain. Mean while the idiot that had their dog off leash tried to follow.

Really? So it's not bad enough you put your dogs' in harms way, then a spectator of people, and now yourself. Good night people get a clue. Your dog might be a great off leash walker, but there are things such as animal instinct. Sometimes I wish they would just remove the warning labels and let the problem take care of its self.

Happy fishing...
