hey everyone i am heading down to Jumbo this weekend and i was just wondering if there is wiper in the lake. the species section on the jumbo page doesnt say it does, but in the special regulations it says 15 in. minimum for wiper.

Try crawfish tail meat on a good size hook under a Bonner. They're huge in there

I do not believe so. It was completely drained back in the early fall of 2006 and they have not stocked them in there since 2003. They have built North Sterling Reservoir as a wiper fishery. The minimum size for wiper is probably left over from when they had them in there. Also I will be there this weekend.

Yeah no wipers anymore in Jumbo. There are a few in jumbo annex that got in there when they drained Jumbo in '06.

While wiper are not stocked in Jumbo, a few do get flushed down from upstream waters, Prewitt, North Sterling, Jackson (I believe but I'm not sure on the connections). I can confirm this from the low twenty inch wiper I saw on a stringer. It was caught from the canal feeding Jumbo two weeks ago.

So they do exist in Jumbo. Numbers are few in my opinion.

The real fishery is the walleye.
