Had a nice time fishing Estes lake today. Hooked quite a few fish, nicest one being the brown trout in the picture. The Rainbows are packed in by the inlet. A beautiful bald eagle soaring around the lake most of the day as well.
Mary's lake also must have been stocked recently. I caught a few small rainbows there.

Good to hear you had some luck! I was on last week Tuesday'ish by boat - - they hadn't stocked yet - - and it was super slow...compared to usual.
I was getting quite a few bites, but they were spread out throughout a 4 hour period - pulled in one good looking rainbow - all action was on a silver spoon with a blue lightning bolt streak...tasmanian devil wasn't working for me that day.
Ha that's kind of how it was for me. I caught all my fish on one type of kastmaster. The knot ended up failing and a fish took off with it. I kind of feel bad for the dumb fish, but that was my only one of that color kastmaster, and I tied on a few other lures and nothing else worked.
Sad I missed out. It sounds like a heck of a time. Are there any fish of size in there? I don't own any rapalas but I do have some trout hd baits. Never had any luck with them yet, I hope to change that in the future.
I'm down in thornton so I don't get up to estes park too much, but if I plan to head up there again we can definitely meet up there. Sunday is my only regular day off though.
I only fish from shore, I don't really have the means to get a boat or move it around. I'd sure love to hook into some of those huge fish I see getting caught from boats though!
