I'm headed up to Estes from Boulder here in a few..where would people recommend fishing and what are best options as far as bait, lures or flies to use?

Estes Lake is fishing pretty good. Try anywhere where you have access to deeper water, or by the golf course inlet.

Deeper running lures (like spoons) are working better. However, if you see fish rising, try fly/bubble or a small spinner.

These fish aren't too picky

I have heard both Mary's and lilly are very slow right now..
However, I always recommend Kirk's Fly Shop (in Estes Park), and always recommend checking out their current fishing report (they put a good very detailed report out every week. Usually very accurate)

Here's a link

Good Luck!

Also, take some pictures and post when you get back

I like Grumpy Gringos (by the marina)

My wife likes (pretty authentic) the new place on highway 7. It's across from what used to be the Holiday Inn. If you're driving up hwy away from the lake (towards Lilly Lake), It'll be on your left right away.

Hope your luck improves. If it's still windy, ffish the rocky shore (along hwy 36) w/ a jerk bait or spinner
