When are there usually crawfish in Colorado? I tried fishing for some the other day and couldn't get any with my trap.

Now. I caught a bass today that was still getting on down his gullet. I started seeing some craws almost a month ago in smaller ponds.

Some of the guys on FXR were sayin they caught them through the ice. BUT they do sorta hibernate, So they should get started soon . Got my traps ready,Already whetted my appetite at Pappa D??? haven't made it to No No's yet. Can't wait to get some mudbugs in the pot.

What are you guys using in your traps? I used a fish head and it doesn't seem to attract any. Or maybe there weren't any at the time... I have one of those torpedo shaped traps.. and made a container with drilled holes to put the bait in.

I've had great results with cheap cuts of chicken wings & legs (the bones help secure them to the trap). Tie them in tight to the trap and get ready for some serious mudbug action!!!

Good Question and would like input, is a fresh GAME FISH carcass ie a walleye spine and bones,, a legal bait or does this fall into the using game fish for bait rule?

Thanxs

anyone know where traps are legal and where they are not im having a hard time finding any regs on the topic but love to eat em. Ive heard aurora res doesnt allow them although ive caught plenty on a nightcrawler and line there. Thanks in advance this site is the best!
