Drove by clear creek today. Had the tackle box but didnt know what to fish for and where. I have looked at the page but like some lakes it says a species are in it but there isnt. It was too late to fish anyway. Im going to be up there again any pointers on whats in there and what to use?

What species are you looking for? As far as I know there are plenty of rainbows, snake river cutthroat, a very few brown trout, suckerfish and the mythical tiger muskie. The inlet and boat ramp point are always safe bets if you want a good shot at fish.

Im just looking for anything I can catch while im up there. Also I was wondering about if the fish were safe to eat out of there because of the mining and mining towns above like vicksburg. I thought it was mostly water powered but wasnt sure. Thanks for the info.

I have had luck with pistol petes behind a bungee bubble. Fill the bubble and use about a 3 foot leader. Vary your speed of retrieval to find what works. Start up by the inlet and work you way down. Good Luck

I just fished clear creek res on Sunday and did pretty well. I took the advice I read about and used a grey pistol Pete and did ok with that catching slimers (stocker rainbows). My girlfriend was slaying fish with green powerbait. I switched up and was using powerbait and we literally couldn't stop catching fish. They were biting before we could set the line. We landed over 25 within an hour. We fished just to the side of the boat ramp. We tried earlier up the shore but caught nada

Trolled spinners up there and couldn't keep the fish off the hook. This one is still there.
