Mark, Liam and I had an incredible day on the tailwater. I took 16 rainbows, a brookie and a brown from 10:30 am to 5:20 pm. Liam ended up with 7 and Mark with 8 in the net. I used self tied tung zebra midge with a green disco midge 2nd most of the day switching to a pearl midge second. We were 3 of 5 fishermen on the water all day. Temp was about 26-32 degrees and the water was a balmy 40 or so. Best day of fishing this year so far although the hike in and out from the entrance was a bit long and tiresome. I won't forget it... ever!
For some reason, that place always fishes well for me. I haven't been in the summer, but I hear it is combat fishing at it's finest with people lining the bank, which is why I love fishing it in the winter with nobody around!
Cool that you got a brookie and brownie. I mostly catch bows with an occasional brown tossed in. I wish I could have stayed longer and tried to strip some streamers through there as the sun goes down for some big brownies!
