Antero Gold

My bro-in-law wanted to get his two brothers on the ice. He convinced me to take them to Antero to find some nice fish. It took nearly 50 holes on the west end because the weeds seem so thick this year.

Had to show everyone this pic with the brilliant colors on one of the little nuggets that was caught.

Beautiful weather. The guys iced 5 decent fish including a nice 20" brown, and missed a handful of bites. Not bad for rookies. Had them using small white tubes, gold trout magnets and other red plastic bugs all tipped with mealies.

Nice orange tones- the ones I have had there were a little more brown/less orange. Is that a spawning color change?

We could not believe the bright orange colors on that cutthroat. It's hard to see because the way my bro-in-law is holding the fish, but the gill plate was crimson red. Looks like spawning colors.

Is it just me, or does the dude look like Nanook of the North, or what?! That's not a bad thing, just sayin'. Again, that's a great looking Antero nugget for sure, thanks for sharing.
