Small Pike .... WHAT???
Post By: T-Dubs      Posted: 9/21/2011 12:39:40 PM     Points: 28
No sure who mentioned the pike in Elkhead were small? Went in the last week in August and had the best 2 days pike fishing in my LIFE! We landed a 42" 18 lbs, a 37" 13 lbs and a 37.5 12lb. Not to mention the Dinks at 10lbs and under. Normally a 10lb is a nice pike, but after catching 7 or 8 of them in a day we started calling them dinks...

Go 8-16 ft of water, fish mid level with crawdad crank baits, 6" rapalas- broke back.. Pretty much anything with lots of movement worked great...

Yep, pike season is on and Elkhead has more bigguns than anywhere. Not as thick as Rifle Gap or Williams Fork but lots easier to catch and still put up a nasty fight, gotta get there before long.
