First colorado brown at bear creek
Post By: bfank      Posted: 8/10/2011 12:51:27 PM     Points: 13
I fished a lot in Iowa for trout and had lots of success. I have been struggling since I moved to Colorado so I'm very excited to have caught my first Colorado brown! Hopefully more to come. Caught using a small brown trout rapala.

congrats on the first welcome to the club!

that's about the average fare for bear creek all the way up: 10-13" browns with a few rainbows mixed in.

Try the rainbow rapala as well. They can be killers. I have had excellent success casting them upstream beginning at the bottom of a pool and casting across the pool, then extending the casts to the head of the pool. You can even throw them above a rock and let them float over the rock into the eddy behind the rock and begin the retrieve then. Good luck!
