Went to McCall again today at sunrise in the float tube. Started out trying a dry fly with no luck, so switched to a silver and blue Kastmaster (1/8oz.) I caught more fish today than I have caught in one session all year. All of em were just little 10-12" stockers with the exception of 2 little baby perch and a nice 15-16" rainbow. All fish safely returned to the water.

While I was out there a lady fishing with her family caught a big fat rainbow on a worm under a bobber. She had her pole sitting on the ground beside her and the fish took her pole out into the water and began to swim away. Being the good samaritan that I am I kicked my way over there in my float tube and retrieved the pole for her, fish still hooked. I reeled in the fish for her and then kicked over to her and handed her up the pole and fish. While I was doing this I got a little close to the rocks.......... SNAP goes the tip of my new Cortland fly rod. DOH! That's what I get for helping out. I think Cortland will replace/repair it for minimal cost though, so it could be worse, but I guess no more fly casting practice for awhile.
