The fam and I arrived about an hour before it ended last year. The winning fish was something like a 17 - 19 rainbow. They stock it pretty well, not just the usual 8 - 10 inchers. Lots of trout left over for about a week. All bass caught have to be released. Prizes were gift certificates for Sportsmans. Sept. 11th
Actually looks like it is Sept 11. So 2 weeks from tomorrow. I'll be there with my girls. We missed the northglenn derby so I have been waiting for this one.
Just a reminder that this derby is tomorrow morning. Sign in is 6:45 am derby starts at 7. See you guys there, I'll be rocking a Comcast ball cap with 2 girls on my arms (my daughters).
I think this is a great thing to get kids into fishing. My only issue is that they are calling it "Harvest-Fest". Lol! Maybe call it "Selective Harvest" Fest!.. Ok guys, I am totally joking.... : ) Almost makes me wanna round up a neice/nephew so I can be there...Sounds like a blast for the kids!!

I know this is a little late but they stocked both the first and secound. They stocked them around 1100 am. I left a little before 12. I noticed the sign on the way out also.
I kept an eye out for you cableguy, didn't see any comcast hats.
It was a fun derby. I saw 4 trout and a crappie caught besides the 2 trout my daughter caught.
My 11 year old daughter is very happy to have won 2nd place with a 14 inch and an 11 inch Rainbow, she was awarded a $30 gift card for sportsman's warehouse which she plans to spend on a new reel and gummy bears.
Milehigh, way to go, man! Your girl has obviously taken after her father! I hope she had a blast! I'm sure after she has won a place in competition, now she'll be on the Pro-Circuit any day now!! She's gonna be askin' for a baitcaster before you know it..lol! Did you fish afterwards?
We were there, but I couldn't find my cap. Anyway one girl decided she didn't want to fish and the other was going for the smallest fish with a 5" lmb as the only catch of the day.
I wanted to get out there and watch this morning, but I had a nasty spill last night at TGP pit 3. Any way I ended up taking a muscle relaxer last night and did not get up until 10 am. So did any one hear how big the largest fish was?
Milehigh. Congrats to your daughter. I was there with my son too today. He got 2nd in the 4-6 year old with a 15 incher. He tied for first dam tie breaker LOL... I am in your pick in the background sitting on the tacklebox in the blue hoodie with a white cap on. It was great to see the kids having a great time.
i cant wait for next year so my boys can enter since their just 3. i did hit it up today for a lite bit with them, 2 pm -4 p.m, one litle blue caught in Pond 2 first time @ ponds, very nice, place for kids to fish, a guy landed a very nice size trout it looked to be about 14--16in from my point--of-view cross the pond.

I was there for a bit after 8. It was pretty neat seeing all that fishing going on. I tried after, couldnt get anything, and all my castmasters went overboard in a tragic accident lol. All I had was a silver and red little buddy, but a no go on that. I lost about 5 Gamakatsu jigs, and caught nothing. I had a little bluegill chase my tube in once, that was it hehe.
