Anyone Thrown A 'Shoe" For Any Length of Time?
Post By: HeavyC      Posted: 5/19/2008 8:38:41 PM     Points: 5442
I was wondering if anyone on here has tossed around a 'shoe' for more than a few hours? What kind of pole do you use? Folks sware by them for big bucket mouths and I just have to catch a fish on one!

I bought a couple and finally tried them this past weekend at Blue Mesa, but WHOA; they are a beast to toss around! Of course I do not think that any of my poles are correct for throwing one, but I could not hang for more than an hour or two. ... and the next morning it felt like I had thrown 18 innings the night before!! :( Maybe I can try my ol' 8 foot trolling pole! Naw, that pole is as heavy as the shoe itself!

You know what? Someone else just called me and ask me. LOL! I always said the same thing, so here it goes....

Who will be the first to tell what a "Shoe" is? Let's see how long it takes for someone to answer correctly.

Hint : It is also called a "Tennis Shoe".

Ah I wear Crocs when I’m on my boat, is that the shoe of which you speak? Toss them at my dog all the time when he is barking. They fly great. I would guess you’re talking about a big swim bait of some sort, but why ask a question and use some slang term so no one knows what you’re talking about? Then when asked still not say what you mean? Seems sort of funny to me but what do I know.

my guess is a large rubber swimbait in the 8 to 10 inch range

Dohhhhh! That did not take long.

Yes, it usually refers to large 'soft' swim baits, 8" or bigger! ...but pretty much anything around 8" or bigger is a shoe. Here is the beast I tried at Blue Mesa! I have the 8" version.
