After a guided fishing trip on Lake Winnibigosh at age 7, Nathan Zelinsky knew fishing was his calling. After graduating high school, Nathan went directly to Colorado Outdoor Adventure Guide School, where he finished and went to the State to get his guide license, #2148, and thus began his dream creating Tightline Outfitters, one of the most successful guiding services in Colorado today. To broaden his knowledge of guiding, Nathan moved to Minnesota for a year and guided two ice fishing seasons and one open water season, where he fished next to some of the most knowledgeable guides in the nation. Coming back to Colorado, he was determined to raise the standards of Tightline Outfitters and to follow another dream of becoming a full time Professional Walleye angler.
Tightline Outfitters then turned into Tightline Outdoors to better fit Radio, T.V and Web opportunities. Starting in 2005 I began chasing my dream as a Professional Walleye Angler. I started my tournament career on the Masters Walleye Circuit. Going from a fishing guide to a Pro- Tournament Angler was an eye opener but at the same time one of the best fishing experiences I could ever dream of. As of todays date a tie for 5th is my best finish.
I spend an average of 300 days a year on the water. Those 300 days are made up of guiding, tournaments, fishing with sponsors, product testing and scouting. I am also an avid Colorado Hunter chasing big game as well as small game and waterfowl.
