Just inside the Flat Tops Wilderness Area in the White River Forest, Trappers Lake is one of the more scenic areas in Colorado. This relatively remote fishery harbors one of the largest populations of native Colorado River Cutthroat.

Lake Avery is better known for the outstanding hunting opportunities in the area, rather than the fishing. With so many outstanding nearby fisheries, this reservoir receives light pressure.
