TFO Conventional Rod Review
Guest Blog by: Will Dykstra 2/20/2013
I will be the first to admit that over the years I have evolved into a little bit of a "Rod Snob." I would only fish one particular brand of rod and paid for the name. That doesn't mean they weren't good rods, they just were a little more expensive than I could afford, but I bought them anyway. Was this a mistake? Who knows, but I will say this, I could have spent less and not sacrificed quality.
I will be up front and say that I am sponsored by TFO rods, and I would not have selected them if I did not think they were a good stick. What impressed me more than anything with these rods was the price tag, I picked up a TFO Signature Series rod and thought for sure it was a $200 fishing rod. The rep told me," try half of that!" I then picked up the Tacical Series 7'11'' Swimbait rod and felt like I was holding a rod that was way out of my price range. Wrong again, this rod was only $50 more than the Signature Series rod.
Okay so what makes them so special other than the affordability? Many of you have seen G. Loomis rods for a long time, well Gary Loomis is the brains behind TFO conventional rods and is designing his best stuff so far. There is a rod for everything from panfish to muskies to steelhead. Pack rods, travel rods, you name it, TFO is making it.TFO also has a limited lifetime warranty as well.
I am not one to push products for the heck of it, I want anglers out there to know that there is a rod that has the latest and greatest design technology at an affordable price.

I picked up a pack spinning rod after last years ISE, I love it and will be buying another TFO rod this year to use on the boat.

I have two - one ML for walleye jigging (awesome rod) anda salt water series 6'6" rod MH for laker fishing. I haven't spent enough time with the laker rod, but I love the quality and sensitivity for the price. As my needs grow - I'll look to these rods first.
