More map tools

I've been anxiously waiting for Lowrance's Insight Genesis tool ever since it was announced last fall. I had some sonar logs I did a few years ago and uploaded to the tool.
This tool is easy to use. There are 3 screenshots below - one shows the track I followed to make the sonar log another is the contours the tool will make, the third is a zoomed in view of the 2nd photo. There is a subscription required if you want to load your maps onto your Lowrance GPS. But if you just want to make maps like this one it is free.
For more info go to Lowrance's Genesis Insight website

I went with a new humminbird but I still think this is a great product. I hear rumors that they are using the info you upload to make maps and sell them is this true?

They are not using the info that is uploaded to make maps to sell, according to the FAQ for the site.

Cool stuff Dan, thanks. How many hours did it take you to map out Douglas, including the computer time?

I can map about 250 acres/day at 5 MPH. Computer time with Insight Genesis is nothing. However long it takes you to upload the files is all it takes. You get an email in a few minutes to let you know your map is done. It was about a Gbyte of data to upload. Your upload time will vary depending on what you have for internet service.
