It's almost here... It's about time to put the boat away and start the hard water season. I know a lot of guys have already been on the ice but with the recent weather some of that ice will be gone. Hopefully once the temps drop again it will be here to stay. And while we wait for ice, take the time to prep for this coming ice season. Look at maps, work on your equipment and educate yourself on new tips and techniques. Bernie Keefe and myself are members of the new Ice Team and I know I have already learned a ton from the Ice Team website as well as just watching and listening to what other FxR members have been doing.
With education on the mind, I am releasing a series of seminars and schools that are built on the theme of education. This series is called Tightline's Ice Tour. I have devoted a ton of time on new material combined with old standby's to bring anglers seminars that will truly help to understand and catch more fish. I will post a copy of the tour below. Check it out and let me know what you think. If there are any topics missing please let me know and I will try and add seminars to cover everything.
Again, take this time to do your homework, I know I have been transferring all my GPS data to my hand held and then planning my locations for all my winter hot spots. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and I hope to see you soon.
The first seminar is this Saturday at The Blue Quill Angler, in Evergreen (Who has a great NEW selection of Ice Gear) at 10AM, This seminar is an Introduction to Ice Fishing. If you feel rusty on your skills or are just getting into the sport this is a great seminar to attend.
Lastly, if anyone is interested in a Guide trip gift card or Ice School gift cards, I am running a 15% discount for Black Friday only. Thanks and good luck on the water!
