A few years ago Larimer County had their very first Kids/Mentor tournament. Mark Caughlan from Larimer County Dept of Resources had a great idea, have a fishing tournament where a kid and an adult fish as a team so he invited several kids and their parents to fish in the tournament. Through the years The Centennial Bass Clubs member Frank Villa, and The Colorado Walleye Federation Barry Cundiff have jumped on board and helped promote this event and bring teams that they have help put together by putting kids they know with members of there clubs.
This years tournament will be held at Horsetooth Reservoir on Saturday May 5th from 7am to 1pm. Teams will consist of 1 kid under 18 and 1 mentor over 18. Each team must provide there own boat and the boat must have a working livewell on it. The tournament will be a weigh in tournament and it will also be a multi species tournament. There will only be 2 participants allowed per boat unless the boat driver is a different person and not participating in the tournament. All State and local rules and laws will be followed.
There will be a mandatory meeting at 6:30 am before the start of the tournament at 7 am. There is no Entry Fee for the tournament.
Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd,and 3rd place, and there will also be a big fish award.
