Carp Anglers Group    Visit website...    Contact Andrew Green     Email     phone: 303 253 2028
The Carp Anglers Group was started in 1993 as a small newsletter with a circulation of 30 anglers. The (then) American Fishing Association published the first ad in their newsletter and the CAG was off to the races. Word of mouth and lots of help from EuroTackle and CarpSense helped sell the idea.

The Carp Anglers Group is especially strong in the Midwest and Eastern parts of the United States, with growing pockets in the Southwest. There is a Canadian component centered in Ontario and we have 25 members in Europe. CAG is recognized as the North American specimen club for carp by the Carp Society in England – a good start in just a few years and on no budget.

Now we are a non-profit organization led by a president, with state and provincial district chairperson volunteers. Our now glossy *magazine*, The North American Carp Angler, is published quarterly and is filled with fishing tips, club news, big-fish reports, book and product reviews, etc.

Our newsletter is evolving into the first magazine devoted to carp angling published in North America. We hold numerous regional events at sites around the USA and Canada each year and also sponsor a few national events, including the Chicago Carp Classic – the competition for the title of North American Carp Champion.

Another service we provide is a list of devoted carp fanatics, some of whom may live near you. We hope CAG members will teach each other about carp fishing and form local clubs to spread the word. Believe it or not, there are carp clubs all over the country that were formed for the singular purpose of catching old “bugle-mouth.” It turns out that carp are a popular fish, but most anglers thought they were the only ones catching carp. We hope to change all that forever.

Goals of the Group

A) To gain acceptance of the carp as an exciting and challenging sport-fish.

B) To become better carp anglers, assist others and encourage them to join us.

C) To treat the carp with respect, promote the release of trophy-size carp and encourage others to do the same.

D) To provide both members and non-members with the opportunity to meet, socialize and enjoy fishing for carp in a group atmosphere.
Centennial Bass Club    Visit website...    Contact Frank Villa     Email     phone: (970) 686-9454
Our goal is to be an invaluable resource to you. We are located in Northern Colorado. The mission of Centennial Bass Club is to get people who are interested in the sport of bass fishing together for fun fishing. In the spring, summer, and fall months we meet after the mini tournaments which are held in the evenings at Carter lake or Horsetooth Reservoir on the first Tuesdays of every month. Other Mini Tournaments are held on the third Tuesday of every month at various local lakes. The annual membership fee is $50.00, and you must be a paid member of B.A.S.S. ($20.00/yr is included in the $50.00). This is a great opportunity for the avid angler or the beginning bass fisherman to become more involved in the sport, and to learn from others who know local waters.

The mini-tournaments begin in April and we meet at the main boat ramps of the lake being fished. Between 4:30 - 5:00 pm we draw for partners. The entry fee is $10.00 and you can sign up as a boater (with proof of boat insurance) or as a non-boater (who contributes $5-10 for boat and gas expenses). We fish from 5:30pm to about 9:00 pm. Winners are announced after all cards are tabulated. Every third Tuesday we hold a mini-tournament at various local lakes and the same rules apply except we do not hold a business meeting following the tournament. Four times throughout the season we have weekend tournaments for those who wish to travel to places outside the state. Weekend tournaments are $50.00 entry fee and $10.00 is given to the boater for fuel.

We practice Catch and Release and measure the Bass with a Golden Rule Board, which the boaters carry on board. Cash and other prizes are awarded, and there is also a payout for the biggest Bass of the tournament.

Colorado Fishing Federation    Visit website...    Contact Colorado Fishing Federation     Email     phone: (719)-635-4435 or (719)-579-0196
The Colorado Fishing Federation formed in early spring of 1995 with the goal of providing angler's a voice in the many issues facing our resources. CFF's founder and president, Greg Austin, realized while attending public meetings with the Colorado Division of Wildlife that the everyday angler was not represented in the issues concerning our resources. Decisions are made daily concerning these resources that do not always have the best interest of the resource or the public in mind. It was clear to Greg Austin that it was time for angler's to speak up or lose our rights.

Although we are a young organization we represent the future of fishing in Colorado. We are not a species specific organization, nor do we stand up for one fishing method over another. First and foremost we support all Colorado angler's in their rights to benefit and enjoy our resources in the manner they choose. Whether you only fish occasionally or you are a seasoned fly fisherman Colorado Fishing Federation is for you.
