Fish Explorer Winter Giveaway Begins

by: Matt Snider , Colorado 11/19/2012
Greetings anglers!  Once a year we have this holiday that reminds us to take time to give thanks for all that we are or should be thankful for.  Here at Fish Explorer we take this time to give thanks to all who have played a part in making a great fishing resource.  And even better than the upcoming holiday, we extend it well beyond Black Friday.

Starting this afternoon, the Winter Giveaway begins.  We have a load of prizes for you to win.  It is free to enter, you just need to have an account registered on  There are no strings attached.  Simply log in and enter as often as you can and in early January we will pick winners randomly from the pool of entrants.  The more you enter, the greater your chances of winning.

You can enter once a day if you have earned enough points through contributions such as lake/river conditions reports, photos, etc.  You can find more about the point system here.  You can also enter daily if you are an FxR+ Subscriber.  Otherwise you may submit an entry weekly for the duration of the event.

The Winter Giveaway will run through December 31, ending at midnight.

So go fishing and send in reports - water conditions change a lot this time of year, this is a great time to stay on top of it all. Submitting reports offers the most points for reward, and helps keep the conditions reporting machine well oiled so we all know what's going on where we want to go fishing.

Visit the prize sponsor websites, thank them for being a part of this, and good luck to you!

I second the Thanks.... Don't really care about the points, but I did notice my points dropped by almost 1000. Why did this happen Matt?

Disregard the last comment. I just read about "Annual Points".
