Colorado DOW National Hunting and Fishing Day by: Barry Reynolds   9/25/2009
On Saturday September 26, 2009 the Colorado Divison of Wildlife will be hosting the National Hunting and Fishing Day at the DOW Headquarters 6060 Broadway from 9am to 4pm! This is a family friendly event were you can try your hand at fishing, casting, shooting, and even hone your map reading and compass skills! There are also lots of activities geared for the youth outdoor enthusiast including seminars on local hot spots for  taking your kids fishing. I will be on hand as well and scheduled to give a seminar on fly fishing for carp and fishing the South Platte River in town, my seminar is slated to start at 11:15am and I am going to share lots of  useful tips on how and where to fish the river in town. Attendance is limited for the entire event and registration is required but it is free. For more information go to www.wildlife.state.co.us to see the entire schedule and list of events. Hope to see you there!

Pheasants Forever is putting on a bird dog demo that I plan on checking out as well. Sounds like a cool event.
