Photo Contest Closing in... by: Matt Snider   9/16/2009

Here's a reminder that the WFN This is Fishing! photo contest is closing in on the final days.  You have until September 30 to submit your photo and story.  Again, huge prizes await - the top three photos as voted on by your peers will win shopping sprees - $750 for first, $500 for second, and $250 for first!

If you haven't checked out the submissions, you're missing out  - there are some great entries.  Go view and vote - 5 stars for the best, 1 star for - well, not the best.  Voting will be open until October 4.  Only photos that receive votes from 5 or more members will be included in the final tally.  6 random voters will win FxR+ subscriptions (or extensions!)

Be sure to give thanks to the World Fishing Network for two core reasons:  First, obviously, they are instrumental in offering the biggest prize package we've put up in the Fish Explorer photo contests.  Second, they have the coolest fishing channel available - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week filled with pure fishing.

The only problem is we can't get the channel here yet.  If we all go and ask our provider to include the channel, chances are we'll get it.  Click here, choose your provider, and send off a message to the TV world that we want WFN!

As a dad with young children I don't get much time in front of the boob tube, but man it would be nice to know when I get those spare moments to ride the couch that there is a fishing show on.  A quality one at that.  Hopefully Mariko.
