Boating Closures - DOW Furlough
by: Matt Snider 9/3/2009
Most everyone here knows about boat inspections for ANS (aquatic nuisance species) by now, and many have likely gone through the process of having boats inspected. So far based on my experiences, things have gone pretty smoothly. Coming up soon, however, some lakes will shut down to boating for state mandated furlough days. The Colorado DOW has posted an updated PDF listing Watercraft Inspection and Decontamination sites, which includes private service providers in addition to the public lakes. The document states the following upcoming "trailered watercraft" closures: - Jumbo Reservoir - Ramp will be closed to all trailered watercraft on September 8
- Tarryall Reservoir - Ramp will be closed to all trailered watercraft September 4th and October 9th
- Antero Reservoir - Ramp will be closed to all trailered watercraft September 8th, October 5th, and October 9th
- Prewitt Reservoir - Ramp will be closed to all trailered watercraft on September 8
Also, the Grand Junction DOW Office site will be closed September 8. For more information, see the DOW Mandatory Inspections web page.

Seems I might have to break out the Minnow to get on few lakes this fall/winter. by: Dan Swanson on 9/3/2009 3:47:37 PM Looks like weekdays will be out-of-state trips this fall. Or I buy a boat I can put in the back of my pickup. by: Swigs on 9/9/2009 12:40:40 AM thanks for sharing Matt
