Free Lures by: Nate Zelinsky   8/27/2009

So at this point of the year is it summer or fall. For some, the fall bite has started and for me that means fall is here.  My whole life revolves around fishing and hunting so the seasons revolve around that. The second I start to see the fish react to the colder mornings and the water temps start to dip it gets me fired up.  The front range is still in its summer heat but the high country is now requiring pants and sweat shirts.  I think it is offically time to put away the shorts.  That being said it brings me to my point;  The water and air temps are dropping and the bug hatches are starting to slow down which is bringing on a great lure bite. The Trout and Pike are similar when it comes to feeding heavy when the temps start to fall.  One of my favorite lures for Trout and Pike alike is the Tasmanian Devil. This bait comes in 4 fresh water sizes and 2 salt water sizes. And the cool part is the fresh water baits are available in 119 colors.  Now I know the economy has some or all of us in a pinch lately, so I thought, what makes anyone happier than free stuff?  And not only stuff but free fishing gear... So I called my good friends at Tas and said these lures have been so good to me lets give a few away so everyone else can have some great fishing action.  Therefor, we are going to give out 20 13.5 gram (1/2 oz) Tasmanian Devils to a winner of a drawing on September  1st.  Now to win these you must be a TEAM TIGHTLINE member.  All you have to do is go to www.tightlineoutdoors.com and sign up to be a team member by September 1st.  All team members will be in the drawing and we will contact the winner after the drawing.  Hopefully this will help your fishing and bring a smile to your face!

Good luck to everyone and hope you are starting to see some great fishing in your near future.

the TAZ is sick. nate turned me on to them and they slam trout. Paul Cownie, owner of TrophyRoom.com floated the blue a few months ago and they were getting skunked. They broke out the spin rod, TAZ lure and first cast caught an 11lb bow. I've crushed it at Antero with them when the fly bite slows. Took em to Iowa afew time this summer and caught walleyes and pike with em consistently.

Just signed up to be a member...did actually attend some of your seminars at the Sportsmans Warehouse in Littleton (unfortunately it is gone now) which puts me out at Bass Pro at least once a month. Have learned alot by just listening and reading your blogs...thanks so!

I use tazs all the time. Have caught some of my biggest trout on them. I fish them kind of like a jig. Jerk the rod tip up, then let it fall, then jerk the rod again.
