BAD LUCK by: Nate and Stephanie Zelinsky   7/12/2009

Bad Luck!!!  Unfortunately as an angler, I believe in good and bad luck.  And boy this year I have had more than my share of very bad luck.  For the most part I have had a great season fishing wise but everything else has had its issues.  Starting off in May I had a small motor issue on my boat and I ended up making it worse.  Found out  that I was the first person in the country to ever break this particular part so Mercury had to manufacture a new  one, which kept me out of a boat for a while. (Aurora Marine did so much for me it was incredable- hats off to those boys) I am lucky enough to have access to a back up boat ; on the second day with the back up boat I ended up frying the main battery which messed up a few things.  I was super stoked to get my boat back and after 3 days with it ,I had a seal on my bearings go out which made them  go out and the hub heated up which then made the bearings  weld to my spindle.  Long and short, I had to take the tires off and drive home with the rear axle ratchet strapped to my trailer with no tires. The shop did great and got my axle done in 1 day and had me back on the water.  A few days after that, I was guiding for walleye and my bow -mount electric offically died and was buried. After I replaced that I was thinking to myself, I can't possible break anything else.  Well I had a good run for awhile when I started to feel some back pain.  I thought it was nothing so I went to Rifle Gap with family and friends.  The first night I found myself in the ER with servere Kidney Stones.  Well after 3 weeks, 3 surgeries, and  infected everything ,I was back up and fishing feeling good.  Guided 4 days when last night while driving home my front axle and bearing went out leaving me on the side of the road playing with ratchet straps again.  I unfortunately had the day off and will be at the trailer shop in the morning.  I have to admit I am very nervous at what the rest of the year will bring, but as long as the fish are biting I'm still going after them.  If anyone else has a bad luck streak going, I would love to hear about it.  It might make me feel better.

Hi Nate... hey, Safeway is hiring if you want a safe, indoor job! Seriously.... who is your trailer mechanic? They must love you!

I went in to the mechanics for a squeaky brake after hitting a nasty pothole 2 broken calipers 4 new rotors and a cv axle later I'm ready to roll. Got love it man. Keep a positive attitude and keep plugging away, everything will eventually workout.

Man Nate I could tell about my luck last year but it would only bring you down. But if you want to hook up and go fishin I can tell you stories all day long. LOL. Just know things happen and it happens to us all. NEVER say it can't get any worse than this... becasue it can! Hope you get out of the funk soon. I know it can be tough. Big "B"
