Got a Boat? Come fish with kids...

June is coming fast - I know because all of a sudden my grass was one foot long before I mowed it this weekend,) all the trees now have leaves, and in 6 days vegetation at Lonetree went from nonexistent to peeking out just below the surface.
Volunteer Boaters Needed for C.A.S.T. for Kids
An event coming up in early June where your help is needed is the
Colorado C.A.S.T. for Kids event at Horsetooth Saturday June 6. They need boaters to volunteer. C.A.S.T. gives disabled and disadvantaged children the opportunity for a special morning of fishing that they will not soon forget.
Mark403 has signed up and
posted in the forum about it as well. Some boaters will be coming from Centennial Bass Club. Chad LaChance, as always, is on board...and Chad will be conducting a sort of fishing orientation the morning of the event for boaters that want the inside scoop of where to find easy fish.
This is how it works. Arrive at 6:30am with boat in tow. A child and their caregiver will join you (and possibly a parent or guardian.) You take them around the lake, work with them in catching fish, and arrive back at 11am for a cookout. You will have at least one other person helping the child in the boat, so your boat needs to comfortably fit 3-4 people.
Kara Lamb of the USBR, the organizer, needs to get 30 boats. I told here we would shoot to get her 10 of those. Let's do it.
To sign up, call Kara at 970-962-4326 or
send an email to Kara.
