Spring Blitz
by: Terry Munfrada 4/13/2009
Well, I know it has been a while since you have heard from me. The good news is it is because I have been fishing HARD!! Over the last 12 days I been on the water for 7 of them. I have fished both moving and stillwaters. I have fished both warm and cold waters. The weather has ranged from sunny and 75 to an all out blizzard and near freezing temps and just about everything in between. The fish have been more than willing to cooperate, which has made it that much more enjoyable. The methods have varied as much as the weather, large streamers and tiny nymphs and even some top water bass action. It is looking like this year is going to be a great one for fishing at least.
As I have been fishing so much, I have not taken the time to write much. I have some very generic ideas, but I would like to know if there is something you the members would like to see an article on. Since the site is member driven, I would like to do something the members want to read. Maybe multiple editors could even team up to make sure more angles are covered.

However, most of the editors seem to favor the fly rod which isn't really my bag. I do read all the articles and enjoy the different perspectives on fishing. Thanks for putting them up. by: flyfishgeek on 4/13/2009 10:48:11 AM We have multiple editors that use spin gear as well as fly gear. As for warm water, I do a lot of bass fishing and I do break out the spin gear for certain places where it is to hard to fly fish. by: deadhead on 4/13/2009 5:42:52 PM I have been trying, (more so last year then yet this year,) to get into topwater bass on the fly rod, and since I know flys are somewhat of a specialty of yours, and that largie with a frog? pattern in his mouth seems a little early to me, I'm guessing you would be a great rescource to have write about "unconventional" or early season tactics for lethargic fish. I would also love to see an article about off the wall streamer tactics, as I have gathered you to be somewhat of an expert on that subject as well....
Dave by: flyfishgeek on 4/14/2009 8:22:29 AM Good points Dave, I have started working on a streamer article as well as some bass on the fly tactics.
